I left him as I since I felt that he was not entirely committed to the relationship and sent him an email to that effect and have not seen him since. I have since realized that I have acted on the rebound and that I ufortunately ended something with a very lovely man. I need to stay single for the moment to "lose" the baggage from my previous relationship but would like to eventually see this man again. I don't quite know whether he will want to see me again (I was awful). What to do?

As for your ex, if he is with someone new then move on and leave him to get on with his life. If he is still single you just need to ask him how he feels. It may not be the answer you want and if it is not you need to respect his decision. Also the relatio ship must have failed for a reason so you have to sort that out before you get back in to it if he is prepared to get back with you.
