writes: hey, i have jus been away for a few months and got back feeling a bit strange with everything and decided to split with my girl. she is devasted and i feel terrible. the reason is that i feel the age gap (7 years) is to big and we dont do anything apart from spend time together in my room and we dont share much in common apart from we fancy each other a have a laugh. its been a week now and i feel lonely and depressed and wondering if i have made a huge mistake. I cant honestly answer the question myself. if i dont move on with someone else and if she does i will become a wreck. i not sure what to do?

You havent necessarily made a mistake. You opted to end the relationship because for whatever reason you felt that it wasn't working. You need to get out there, come up with new activities to do and ensure that you meet someone with whom you do have a lot in common. Try to have as much fun as possible along the way. The first week after breaking up is always the hardest and the feelings you have at the moment will ease off, I promise
