 Its like the forbidden fruit, you want her because you shouldnt. Trust me Ive been in a very simular situation and its not all that its cracked up to be.
Im sure that if you persue not only are you going to ruin their friendship and hurt peoples feeling but it will be for nothing. Chances are that it will start fine, but youll both soon realise that it was the secrecy and doing what u shouldnt that give you that buzz.
Id say leave it and move on, I know you really dont want to, but take it from me its not worth it.
