I am willing to talk and befriend anyone who approaches me, but don't usually feel comfortable approaching others. I work a lot and have made a few great friends here, but they are also in relationships and have little time for me. I hate having free time and having no one to spend it with and don't want to make my boyfriend feel like he has to be with me all the time. I am comfortable doing things on my own that I enjoy, but somehow must not be very freindly seeming and don't meet anyone. How do I make more friends to hang out with?

You should try a new hobby or join a dance class or art or pottery class for example. Thats a good way to meet new people, and they might be looking to make a friend too! You said you liked doing things on your own, and so do many others, so you could try it out and see how it goes. Or the gym like Rifraf suggested. Maybe do some volunteer work for charity or your local church or something? Or in fact you could start going to church? Unless you have another religion lol. Or you could go to fetes and fairs and events in your town and things too. And with or without your boyfriend or mates go to some pubs and clubs, everyone gets talking there.
You know what, you could even get a dog! Not just for a nice furry friend haha, but when your out walking it, its like a great conversation starter and stuff :D
Thats all i can think of for now. Good luck and all the best! :) x

Hobbies that involve people meeting up (dance classes for example) or even online hobbies and communities. Also volunteering.
