Hi, well I've got a very embarrassing question that really needs answering. I'm 15 years old and well I'm a bit worried. Every time I shave my legs and nether regions I seem to get these little spots that appear like a rash. Its worse on my nether regions and sometimes the can take ages to disappear. The problem started when I was 14 and started shaving the first time I shaved I broke out in a rather big rash and they can some times be rather itchy.

I don't know if anyone perhaps has any solutions or even know what they are, i couldn't possibly go to my GP the embarrassment would be terrible. it worries me sometimes and i could really use an answer? Does anyone perhaps have an idea what this is or even better a solution ? All advice welcome

kaykay1989 agony auntFirst of all I want to start by saying your not abnormal and actually this is quite common a lot of girls get a shaving rash, or sometimes what you call ingrown hairs when more than one hair get trapped in the same hair follicle and create a spot. Why don't you try different ways of hair removal.

Such as waxing or hair removal creams and if the problem persists then maybe you should go and see you GP. XOXOXO

Its just simple razor rash. its nothing to be worried about. Do you dry shave? if so ensure you use shaving cream/ gel/ foam. If that doesnt work i found an eletric shaver to be much better for me. You can pick them up quite cheaply so dont worry abpout it being more expensive cosit wont be at all

Don't worry, this is quite normal. You probably just have sensitive skin. Make sure you use loads of soap/whatever you use to shave with, and really lather it up before you start to shave. Also make sure the blade is sharp or it's more likely to irritate your skin. Always mouisturize afterwards and don't wear tight clothes straight after shaving. If non of this helps it might be something to do with the type of body wash you're using - try out some different ones and see if it makes any difference. You might be allergic to something in the one you're using. Just don't panic, its an easily fixed problem. Hope this helps :) x

My legs and my underarms do not respond to shaving - and never have. Part of it may be the blade on your razor. At your age, you may not have the money to invest in a really good razor and blade. Do not reuse the blade too many times, as that will cause it to become dull. I suggest you experiment holding the razor differently in your hand and see how your legs respond. Try not to press too hard as this causes the scraping that hurts. I like to shave my legs in the shower where I have some lather from the soap to assist in the shave. Also found out that if I shave with downward strokes, I do not have the rash and burning sensation that follows shaving too close. If push comes to shove, then invest in an electric razor.

Princess-Lou agony auntFantastic question to ask and absolutely nothing to worry about honey . What you can do is rub baby / talcum powder into your legs after shaving and into your bikini area or try using Luke warm water while shaving I get it all the time so it's really nothing to worry about just shave your areas before you go to bed and rub the talc in by the morning it should be good enough to rub cream into
