I actually meant it when I said those three words

Question - (24 September 2010) 5 Answers - (Newest, 24 September 2010)
A male United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Aw man, I got myself in a bit of a pickle here. About a week ago, my best friend (a girl) and I both got drunk and had sex. Before we did it, though, she told me she's the kind of girl who needs to hear those three special words to make it feel "right".

Well, I looked down as I said it and then entered her. (By the way, it was the first time for us both.)

Yes, since then we had a chat about what happened but what she doesn't know is that I was sincere when I told her I love her. Now she's thinking a friend of mine is hot and I'm thinking, "Oh shit...".

Just not entirely sure what to do here. Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

dirtball agony auntBetter tell her now before you miss your chance. Let her know what the other night meant to you and how you hoped it meant something more for her too.

Don't wait on this.

If she said she had to hear it first then she must have believed it to a certain extent,or she would'nt have gone through with it, she would be contradicting herself otherwise..plus you guys are supposed to be best friends, so she would call you out if she thought you were lying. let her know how u feel and see if you guys are on the same page. Maybe she just said your friend was hot to get a reaction out of you..some people do that just to see where they stand with you.. hope all goes well for you

A reader, anonymous, writes (24 September 2010):

This is ridiculous!! Your friend just "needed" to hear those words before sex, and it doesnt matter to her if the guy means it or not??

Look, talk to her and tell her that even if it didnt mean anything to her, it did to you. You have to be direct

A male reader, Odds United States +, writes (24 September 2010):

Odds agony auntTry to get with her again. Stay awake afterwards, and tell her you meant what you said.

So ask her out the next chance you get - seriously, just call her on the phone right now. Have a good time, a few drinks, dance, etc. Go for the kiss about halfway through. Good luck to you.
