I accidentally gave him the wrong number and I don't think I will ever see him again! Help!

I started out in my first job a couple months ago and I met this guy called max who I ended up working really closely with almost every night and we became good freinds till it sort of became obvious neither of us wanted to be..Just freinds..how cliche is that..anyway.I lost someone i loved very dearly and didnt want to talk to anyone,I tried to speak to him but shut down and he got really confused..I quit a few days later and never had my chance to wish him goodbye.I was crying everyday,it was like suddenly..I dont know i was lost,I wanted to see him so badly.It so happened that one day in the supermarket we ran into each other,he jokingly said gee quitting like that you must really hate us and I replied that I didnt and he couldnt wipe the smile off his face when he asked for my number,Then like five minutes later it occured to me I think Ive gone and mixed up the last two digits in my number.I might not run into him again..and..God this cant happen.I had to sleep over at the hospital the night my freind left me and all I could think was I wanted him with me,not my family I just wanted to see him and now I dont know what to do.I know the only advice anyone can give me is like..I dont know comb the supermarkets and hang out where I might see him but still,anyone have any suggestions???? Oh Im 17 female and yeah I dont know if I need to include that info but anyways.
