Are you a boy or a girl, because you say you are a boy but you are listed as a woman? Is this your girlfriend or just a friend of yours?
Having a sex toy has absolutely nothing to do with the sex you have with your partner. It doesn't mean the partner isn't good enough or whatever you imagine. And you can certainly not say that when you haven't even had sex yet.
A woman can buy a sex toy before or after having had sex with her partner. Be happy she enjoys her sexuality instead of feeling threatened by it.

reader, anonymous, writes (9 May 2011): It's not a silly question, but there isn't much detail in it to give you a good answer. For starters, you've identified yourself as female, but compared yourself to a male in the question: "will you buy a sex toy before having sex with your BF? "
I'm not entirely sure if you're a female in a relationship with another woman or a male who was just decided to go incognito on this site.
If you're a female in a lesbian relationship, then I think buying sex toys is pretty common and typical. Some women enjoy the sensation of penetration and need it to climax. It's a harder sensation to get in a female-female relationship. So I wouldn't take her buying a dildo as a criticism of you or your anatomy.
If you're a male (and also if you're a female) and you two have yet to have sex, then you might consider that the buying of the toy is an erotic thing in and of itself. It's perhaps a consumerish way to anticipate sex with you, but I would insist that this was a form of rejection.
