How to live with a vicious miscarriage of justice?

A age 41-50, * writes:

The world has changed completely. My nation, Ireland, has tonight been illegally denied a place in next summer's football World Cup by an unbelievably blatant handball offence which was stunningly overlooked by the referee and officials.

The offence in question becomes more preposterously obscene every time you look at it. The refs were no doubt mindful of the fact that it was deemed a commercial necessary that a 'major nation' (France) would qualify in order to keep sponsors such as Nike and Adidas happy and ensure that a televised market of 60-plus million people is awarded their place at the party.

But the word 'distraught' doesn't even begin to cover how the people here feel. We have just watched 11 footballers put in the performance of their lives and absoultely destroy the so-called 2nd best team in the world, only to have our just reward cruelly thieved by an act of robbery so blatant that I'm sure even the perpetrator was astonished to get away with it.

I know that this is a site for relationship, sex and dating advice. I don't mean to frivolously misuse this site by equating my current heartache with that which confronts a deserted or bereaved wife or husband, or imply that the agony I feel is equivalent to theirs.

But I am utterly fucking devastated.

How to get over it?

Anyone?

HonningKanin agony auntI am just going to say this.

You live with this sort of injustice everyday for things that are far more important than football. Open a news paper and just read about the human rights violations in most third world countries. Where are your passionate outrage over that? Those people dont get paid in the end, footballers do and grossly too much.

I understand this is your hobby and is something you care about, but a good way to help you get over it is to put it into perspective with other infractions upon others. By all means I am not saying that what happened in the game was meaningless and football is worthless because it obviously does for fans like you. I am just saying it is not as important.

What you could possibly do is raise a group of people to write letters and complain. Sign petitions and what not.
