Wait until you are ready, secure and comfortable.
Personally I normally use a month of dating as a guide but that is based on seeing him about twice a week.
one guy i made 6 months and he waited for me and because of that i knew he was with me because he liked me and not just for sex. we had a 5 year relationship and wereboth faithful
The man i am with now waited 6 weeks but i was seeing him three days a week, we have been together for 18 months and just about to move in together.
I tend to find if y ou build the relationship before sex they tend to last longer as y ou know they like you.

It depends a lot on circumstances and how much you like him.
If you want a serious relationship with him then make sure you have been in a secure, exclusive formal relationship for a few weeks before you have sex.
Kissing and getting close and steamy on the sofa is fine but let him know that you want to take things slowly because you really like him.
Most of all you have to wait till you are ready and feel secure that he will not think any less of you. Don't be afraid to tell him that you don't want him to think less of you and this is why you want to wait.
Good Luck!! xx
