Unfortunately Chlamydia doesnt always have symptoms, hence it being the most common STD as people don't get treatment as they arent aware they have it.
It taks quite a while for it to damage fertility- but she should still get it sorted as soon as possible!
If your friend thinks she may have caught chlamydia, she shold get checked out at a family planning clinic or a normal GP. She can do this without parental knowledge.

I'd get it taken care of right away. The time frame depends on the person. It's not the same for everyone. She can go to a local family planning clinic, get checked and receive the medication to treat it. I believe they still do so without requiring parental notification.
