As i live in the uk the treatment is free and the orthodontist told my mom I will be put at the top of the waiting list and that my treatment starts in august. I have already had x-rays and decided a treatment plan. How long do you think It will be until I have my braces on?i know its a bit of a weird question but advice would be helpfulxxxthankyoux

Lexilou I had the same as your daughter except Im just wearing my retainer at night untill he says not too.
I expect you will have them put on at your next appointment, if they have decided not to remove teeth and such.
Good luck! The time realy flys and your teeth will look perfect

Well when I went to see when I'd get my braces, I had a 2 month wait. But it could be different. The orthodontists have to look at your x-rays and pics of your teeth to estimate about how long you'll have your braces. So that's why there's such a wait as well.

You are very lucky my daughter was put on the waiting list and was told it was a four year wait in our area, I paid privately as it meant she would be getting them at the time she would be starting uni - it cost me £2000 but her teeth are beautiful now, she had overcrowding so two teeth stuck out at the sides.
At her first appointment they decided what course of action to take, i.e she had to have four back teeth removed first and then wait for her mouth to heal, she had two out at a time and I think it was about 6 weeks later she had her brace on and it was all done and finished within 9 months. She still wears a retainer for bed and will have to wear indefinately if she doesnt want her front teeth to 'butterfly' out x

When I started the process of having x-rays & imprints made of my teeth & having extra teeth removed to having my braces put on was around 2 months :)
I hope to have helped a little :)
