It depends on what you are getting tested for. The safest thing to do is contact your doctor and tell her/him that you wish to be tested, and how long since you've had any sexual contact. They will be able to tell you how to proceed. To get tested you have to go to a doctor or a clinic, there's no hometesting for sexually transmitted diseases.
For the future, the best thing is to be tested before having sex so that you are sure you are not passing anything onto the other person.

If you think something is wrong, it's best to go now and see what they can do or if they can test for anything quickly. Don't waste time.
