I need your advice.. My period should have started over a week ago, so I took a pregnancy test, and it showed up negative. Yet, my period still hasn't started.. They've always been pretty regular, what's wrong? If it's delayed because of worrying/stress, how long could it be delayed for? Thank yooou.

A female reader, MissKin United Kingdom +, writes (17 March 2008):

MissKin agony auntI once went without a period for six months due to family and school related stress. I went to see my doctor to make sure there was nothing wrong though, because you never know what's causing you to miss a period. I would take Mandy's advice and get a professional pregnancy test done, just to be certain and if you're definitely not pregnant see your GP about what else could be causing your late period.

Best wishes,
