I'm just wondering how possible is it to get preagnant if you use condoms properly?

If they don't break and are put on early and used properly they are pretty effective.
Caveat: I got pregnant when a condom broke and they DO break now and again....

It's not likely that you will get pregnant if you guys use a condom EVERY time and correctly EVERY time. The thing is sometimes in the moment of passion people don't do the "right" thing.
I would suggest that you go see your doctor and get on Birth control. And when you two start having sex, you also use a condom, that would be the RESPONSIBLE thing to do.
If you can't afford BC, you certainly can't afford a baby.

If condoms were only 96% safe I must have over 20 children by now. If used properly they really do work. Cheap unknown brands can break, I think only sharp finger nails would break one from a reputable brand. More risk is from them coming off, this does happen.
Most I remember using come with a powerful spermicide. If you also pick a day before or after your period you can't be much safer. But remember, unless one of you is physically sterile any time sperm is ejaculated near a vagina there is a small chance of pregnancy. If it streases you so much then just wait because you won't enjoy it.

Condoms break some times, even with optimal use.
If you are deathly afraid of getting pregnant, why can't you see an OB / GYN and get birth control ? Money reasons ? Save up - and abstain in the meantime :) A child would definitely cost you much more.

You don't have to go to Planned Parenthood to get hormonal birth control. A regular doctor can prescribe it for you. Go talk to your regular, normal doctor and ask for some form of hormonal birth control.
Use spermicide with the condoms always.
That way, you are triply protected against pregnancy.

Just wanted to ad that if you wanted to you can get plan b over the counter its about 65 bux but if a condom broke i think its worth it. Another poster mentioned spermicide also and that is a good birthcontrol method in addition to condoms.

15-24 pregnancies per 100 woman per year if used properly.
Best to add an additional method, such as a spermicide.
Do you have a doctor at all?

I second that the statistics are located on the box. Nothing is 100% full-proof. Condoms used correctly should be in the 90 percentile.
Why can't you go to your doctor and get birth control? Or drive to an area that has a women's clinic? If there's not one in your town, then there should be one in the next city. They're all over the place.
Lastly if you have sex and the condom breaks, you can go to a local pharmacy within 72 hours and purchase Plan B. I believe it's around $50, depends upon your area. BUT, that's not recommended to be used all the time as it's not as strong as birth control. It also won't work outside of the 72 hr window and if you're already pregnant.

Difficult to say, depends. Lots can happen. There should be a disclaimer inside the box of condoms with the statistics and data on it. YOu also need to think about what if the condom breaks?
If I may offer a small peice of advice? With Sex comes responsibility... perhaps you are not quite ready yet? Have you and your partner talked about what you would do if you actually did get pregnant?
Good luck
