So_Very_Confused agony auntare you willing to risk being pregnant.. then a condom is a good bet.

BUT it has to be put on before any sexual contact since precum will have sperm in it...

and it has to be put on properly (leave room at the tip)

AND you have to use proper lube as something not made for sexual lubrication can cause damage to the condom

AND he has to exit your vagina by holding on to the base of the condom BEFORE he loses his erection totally or else the contents can spill out and cause pregnancy.

if USED properly (never use double condoms as the friction will ruin them) they are pretty safe.... but only abstinence is 100%

person12345 agony auntNothing other than abstinence is 100% but it's around 95-97% effective. Many couples use them as their sole method of birth control. If it does break or slip off, you can always take emergency contraception. They are very effective and are fine to rely on, especially if you have emergency contraception available.

You should have started using condoms the day the implant was removed, as you stop being protected within the same day.

Its effective unless you put it late or it was so thin the it might be cut while having some hard action

k_c100 agony auntI think the figure is something like 97% effective but dont quote me on that.

It all depends on putting it on correctly, the condom not breaking, and then taking it off correctly too - so there is a margin for error as you can see.

The best thing you can do is use a form of birth control (like the pill) and use condoms too - condoms prevent STD's and birth control prevents you getting pregnant.

If you are still unsure, speak to your doctor who will be able to advise you.

Nothing is 100% effective, a condom is much better than using nothing at all

A condom is fine to use. If there are any accidents with the condom, you can try take the morning after pill to be certain you dont fall pregnant. You should be safe with a condom though.
