How do you get on the pill, I am 20.

It's not for your GP to decide...Get a new one. You have every right to go on birth control. If you can't find one that will prescribe you the pill, then next time you go in and they ask "are you sexually active?" say "YEP!9 times a day EVERY DAY BABY!"
On a more serious note though, you probably should have the pap. I just had a lump found on my cervix...and Im only 21. Once you find out everything is good, thats just more thing you don't need to worry about.

If you are in college you can go to the school medical center see a doctor and get a prescription. If not go to Planned Parent-hood, they are a non-profit organization with locations everywhere. You can go there make an apt., over the phone. They will give you pills for free if you cannot afford them or are uninsured.Last you are an adult. You are responsible for your health. You call your doctor and tell them you want the pill end of story and they need to write you a prescription. Ask for a recomendation. Pills have differnt hormones and can effect you differently. You may have to play for a while until you find a pill that works for you. FYI - after a few years you may need to change again. Our bodies change and so we change the pill to suit our needs. I have been on the pill since I was 15 I am now 37. I have changed the pill I take about 4 to 5 times. But it works great. Please even if are on the pill use condoms no matter what, pills will not prevent HIV, or all the other stuff. And when you do get into a committed relationship - get tested both of you before you go without the condom. No man is worth your life and health. Remember you are responsible for you, and only you can take care of you.
