 Ask him about his life, his hobbies, his interests,where he usually hangs out, his views about any interesting events or anything you can think about.

reader, anonymous, writes (12 May 2010): To add to The Realist, when you are talking to him, smile, make eye contact, touch his arm, or in other words flirt, hopefully he will get the picture. You could be really brave and say you're going to the pictures and ask him does he fancy seeing the film.

 See if you can find something that he is interested in and bring that up with him. Once you get talking it will all come naturally. It's just getting the conversation started that difficult. Watch him closely and see if there is anything that catches your eye that you two could talk about. He sounds like he's interested but shy.
