reader, anonymous, writes (28 February 2008): i agree, when i plan to approach someone i like when the actual time comes i get soooo nervous i just FREAK OUT. it's no good because i just end up thinking "i am never trying that again i am not going to put myself through that again" lol. mind you i am naturally very prone to anxiety despite being an outgoing person. don't plan instead i would hang out around where you know she hangs out when you have a minute, not in a stalker way just tweak your chances of seeing her slightly...;) take deep breaths when you see her pluck your courage up, put on your BEST SMILE give her a good vibe lol-it's good to feel a bit nervous that way it's exciting but DONT PANIC! take it from me :)
when youre talking to her, if you feel confident enough relax and dont waffle, look into her eyes-not too deep or it will look weird also notice her body language does she lean towards you slightly hold your eye contact laugh at your jokes. These are signs that she feels the same and if she does these things, feel more confident. when you tell her, be original and creative, try to avoid "i like you", something like "you've always been special to me" or "being my girlfriend would make me so happy" but if you want you can just tell her straight.
dont dread it, feel confident, relaxed and prepared dont think about rejection-major put off (eek!)

Try not to plan when your gonna do it, you'll get so nervous and probably screw it up,
Relax talk to her casually and let it come out when your ready and you no your not gonna scare her away lol
