Just be like, "Hi mom! Guess what?!" "I think I am getting my period soon." And she is going to be SO happy cause her little baby is becoming a woman. She is just going to give you a big congratulatory hug, she might even cry, and she'll tell you all the details about how to clean yourself and wear the necessary things you need to wear. And all that. And maybe she will even take you shopping and buy you new clothes or take you for ice cream. And she might even cook your favorite dinner and have a family night where you all play board games.

When you are telling her,

Don't think of this as an embarrasing thing!

It should be celebrated...

like if you won a lottery, you'd tell someone, right?

But if you are still embarrased about this, and want only your mom to know, try to tell her in private.

agonyunclechris agony auntheya , your mom gave you a book on it lol

so that means she is there for you and understands that this issue would be fast approaching you , the best thing to do is wait until you have a quite moment and say 'mom i think i am on my period' she will understand you and she will know how it is for you as she had to tell her mother the same

dont worry about it , just tell her straight

take care hun

You are not the first and you certainly wont be the last to find this quite uncomfortable to mention to your mum. Once your period starts just tell her outright what has happened, she will understand. She is a woman, and depending on her age is probably still having periods herself so she will be able to sympathise with you. I was quite upset when mine started at the age of 12, but mum was great. Dont be afraid, she will want to hear from you asap.

take care
