reader, anonymous, writes (5 November 2007): My little girl who's about your age has recently made the opposite decision, she lives with me at the minute but wants to move in with her Mom. It's cutting me up because I love my kids to bits but I understand that she needs to live where she's happiest. Just be honest with your Mom and talk about when you'll see her, making sure you do make the effort to stay in touch with her.
You also need to talk to your Dad first and make sure that it's ok with him.
You Mom might be a bit difficult about it so be sure to explain to her properly why you want to live with your Dad. Most of all stay calm about it. Your Mom might say no to start off with but getting angry, shouting, screaming etc. won't change her mind so keep calm.

 Think around the issuse of why you wish to go live with you dad. See if these can be resolved.
If not and still want to live woth your dad then you ned to know nd find out if this is allowed.
Ask your dad his opinion on the situation adn then ask him to approach your mum on it if you maybe feel like you cant.

 Hello.
The best thing to do is talk to your dad first to make sure that it is alright for you to live with him, if he says yes, then ask his advise about telling your mother, he knows your mother better than i do and will know how she is going to react and hopefully he will know what to do, he may also need permission from your mum if she has sole custody of you, so try not to build your hopes up to much until you find all the fact of your custody order.
