A female South Africa age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hi, I'm 22 and my boyfriend is 25. His ex is four months pregnant with his baby and I'm one month pregnant with his too. My problem is, he doesn't seem to be happy for our baby but promise that he will take care of the baby once born. Now, the thing is, I told my ex boyfriend that I'm pregnant. I ddn't say the baby is his. He just assumed so and is so happy, he is very supportive and that keeps me happy too unlike my current boyfriend. He just don't care much. So now, I don't know when and how am I gonna tell my ex that the baby is not his. I also wish the baby was his, I'm scared the baby won't even look like him!

You should tell him now rather than later. Don't let him get to attached when there's a possibility it might not even be his. Just tell him your not sure if it's his or your current boyfriends baby. After the baby's born take a paternity test to identify whose the baby's father. Sorry that I might not be is, it must Hurt since he makes you happy and all. But be honest because being dishonest hurts peoples feelings and could possibly loose their trust towards you. Good luck

A female reader, when nothing goes right go left United Kingdom +, writes (15 February 2013):

when nothing goes right go left agony auntYou definitely need to tell him because he deserves to know the truth and the longer that you leave then the worse he will feel when he finds

out. So you need to tell him as soon as possible and although you should of put him straight right there and then but you diddn't actually tell him that he was the daddy so just put him straight as soon as

possible because the longer that you leave it then then worse he will feel when he actually finds out. And then allow yourself to work out if you

really want to be with the guy that you are with now.

Hope this helps.

A female reader, ihavetoomanythoughts Australia +, writes (15 February 2013):

ihavetoomanythoughts agony auntWow. Before you dig yourself into a deeper hole, you should tell your ex immediately. You are being extremely cruel and selfish to him if the only reason you want to keep up this charade is to feel like you're being loved and cared for.

And it even sounds like you're not planning on telling him! "I'm scared the baby won't even look like him!" Why would this matter if you're going to tell him the truth anyway? And have you told your current boyfriend that you're pretending that the baby belongs to your ex? Because I can't imagine he'll be too happy about that.

Goodness, your boyfriend is certainly spreading his DNA around isn't he. His ex is four months pregnant and you are one month pregnant. I see one of two possibilities here:

1. You've only been dating for what, 3 months? And now you're having a baby with someone you don't even know that well. How can you be sure you're going to stay with him for long enough to raise a child together? I'm sorry, but this is just irresponsible behaviour and unfair for your child. I seriously hope you have plans for raising your kid on your own, cause chances are, your boyfriend will leave.

2. You've been in a long and loving relationship with your boyfriend. But hey wait, he cheated on you 4 months ago with his ex. Not so loving and not so responsible of him is it? If he cheated, he could do it again. If he cheated, he might end up leaving you for another woman. And then you'd have to raise your child alone. Again, I hope you have plans for raising your kid on your own.

Either way, I don't think you're ready. You're obviously too immature to have a child and take care of it properly if you're maintaining a lie to satisfy how you want to feel.
