 Sometimes youve got to be cruel to be kind and in this case youre hardly going to be cruel your actually just going to be honest.
His nose may be put out of joint slightly but telling him you just dont want to be in a relationship is aboout you rather than him so he really shouldnt be ultra devastated.
One thing you do need to do though is to tell him as quickly as you can. The longer you leave this, the more chance there is of him thinking he does have a chance of dating you.
Bite the bullet and be honest - its the safest and kindest way to do this.
