Don't think about the message to hard, JUST GO FOR IT, and be yourself.
Say something like:
Hi xxxxxxxx
Hope this doesn't seem funny or strange, but i really wanted to get in contact with you.
Seen you around a couple of times, and wondering if you'd like to meet up at the cafeteria (or where-ever, just suggest somewhere you think she might be comfortable)
Be calm and confident, and just yourself.
Why not write the message you think you want to send her to us, and let us see how we can improve (if in any way)
