Pilates. Pilates is a great way to firm and tighten your abs. Its core training which means your stomach muscles are always engaged in whatever you do. Good Luck!

This is a widely believed misconception.
It is, however, false, nonetheless.
You cannot do specific excercises that will "burn fat" off of a specific area.
You CAN do any / all of the following:
Tighten muscles in a given area, firming up the flesh and reducing the amount of poink and jiggle in that area. This does not reduce the fat in that area, but does help make the region firmer, less "flabby"
Burn bodyfat in general. This is the only way to lose fat in a given area, by losing fat everywhere.
Unfortunately, the "love handles" is often one of the last areas to go. I've lost 95 lbs of fat, and since put on 30 lbs of lean muscle. Still have a spare tire to burn off. I want to put on another 30 lbs of muscle before I do, both to firm up, and to make the fat loss easier. (the more muscle, the faster you burn fat).
No magic "ab miracle" excercise routine will result in a flat tummy or lost love handles. They're just gimmick workouts that rely on a combination of toning your core muscles a little, and some cardiovascular activity to burn off some fat at the same time. This makes for a first week or so of results that look like they're gong to be very promising, but that very rapidly starts to dissapoint.
Smarter by far would be a combination of smart planned eating and regular cardio. With the right choice of cardio, you can tone your midsection muscles while burning fat all over. With the right planned eating schedule, you can run a massive caloric deficit while still ensuring you keep full nutritional support and a high metabolic rate. The fat will melt off faster than you thought, if you're smart about it.
