The first couple of times can be painful, too, just because you've never done this before. If your hymen was still intact, that can cause pain as well as it either stretches or breaks to accomidate the large insertion. The second time will be a little easier, and the third a little easier, and so on.
You may find yourself actually enjoying the physical sensation before long, but you do need to get used to it.
