Your father after all doesn't have any personal experience to tell him what his son is doing in his room.
Your mother is completly ignorant and doesn't have a clue as to what happens in a teens life.
Ah well, still good manners to clean up. Indeed, use tissues and throw it away and be aware that the smell can be rather strong although you yourself might not notice it so throw it away.
