writes: Hi I know I ask a lot of questions but hear me out. I haven't had a period ever. I am 13 and at a bigger than average weight. Lots of girls at my school have started theirs. Even some of the ones younger than me. I started having frequent stomach cramps and thought it was time but nothing has been happening. What is another sign that I might get one soon? How do I prepare? Thanks in advance. :)

honestly alot of people that i have talked to said they never felt it coming. i for one got mine at school when i was 12 and thought i was dieing
i had to go to the nurse
Always be prepared at school
you are at the age where this could happen anytime so i would suggest wearing thin panty liners just incase something happends
even at night when your sleeping wear a pad!
usually before you get your period you become gasy and have lower abdomanal cramps those may also been signs

I didn't start until I was 14, so you're just a late bloomer like me. Actually, I had no signs at all, I went to the bathroom at school and there was blood in my underwear. Luckily, I had a few pads in my purse. My mom told me to carry some at all times, because you never know. I recommend getting a little pouch to big enough to carry a few pads or tampons, Midol, and an extra pair of underwear. Just in case you start and your panties are soaked, I had this happen one time and I had to go to the nurse and wait for my grandma to pick me so I could go home and change. So avoid an unnecessary trip home and be armed with supplies.
