How do I kill my masterbation habit?

A male India age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I am 22 addicted to masturbation for about 10 years or so.I masturbate more than once in day.I want to leave this habit.

What should i do for the restlessness i feel when not masturbating?Especially if i get bored ..and have nothing to do I masturbate.How to kill this?

I know its not harmful but I m more luking forward to drop it completely.

well if u have the urge to masterbate try thinking about other things or get up and go for a walk or eat a snack and try to get your mind off it. thats the only advice i have

Libra1963 agony auntAt your age boys tend to have a high sex drive. It sounds like you need the real thing. If you are continuously doing it, you clearly are not satisfying yourself. Maybe do it watching a XXX film or with magazines. You should get so aroused that you satisfy yourself more and will be least likely to do it so often.

dont feel embasassed by the act. Nearly all of us do it.

yeah I used to masturbate obsessively too. it got to the point where it was impossible for me to have an orgasm with another person because I was so accustomed to doing it myself. I know what you mean though, about the restless tension that you need to release.

take a shower, go for a run, get laid, eat some food, do whatever you gotta do to distract yourself from the urge.

Figure out the time of day and place when you are most likely to masturbate, and make sure you control yourself the most. Like if it is lying in bed at night, get out of bed and do something else if you feel the urge to touch yourself.

make short term goals, dont stop completely, if u do it like 5 x a day, try doing it 2 x a day, then make it 1 x a day, then the next week try doing it every other day, then it will eventually be once a week, and then hopefully once a month. You have to take it one week at a time, so the first week will be doing it once a day, then the next week will be once every other day, and so on. Also, if ur bored GO OUT, make a point to leave ur house and do something. Theres so much to do if u just leave ur house, call a friend, watch a movie, tell urself not today, today is not the day im allowed to do this. Do u have a job? if u work then by the time u get home, u shud be too tired to masturbate. also, ONLy sleep wen ur really tired DO NOT TAKE NAPS! i am a girl and masturbate on weekends like every morning wen im still in bed, dont wanna get out until i do it, im trying to break the habit and make it a once a month thing but ive been trying that for like 6 months and its not really working...but having a job helps, i work 5 x a wk, wen i get home im busy doing stuf so by the time i wanna sleep, im too tired to play with myself. So having a job, doing something productive def helps...dont stay home always be out and about. u'll want it less if u just get rid of it slowly. good luck!
