A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

Hello, I need some advise... Please.. For the past two and a half years. I have been "talking" to someone.. Its really complicated because I want to be with him, its like we are boyfriend and girlfriend but its not. We act like it though and we always tell each other I love you. Talk everyday but not see each other everyday.. He has a child that is 2 years and I still have not met his parents.. They know about me but I have not met them.

Im constantly telling him that I want to be with him and that things have to change. I dont go anywhere or do anything because he gets mad. But yet he does anything he wants. These past two years I have done everything he wants. Because I dont want to lose him. He always tell me, be patient. Chill out we are going to be together. But I dont know what to do anymore. How do I get things to change?

A female reader, :):):) United Kingdom +, writes (11 October 2008):

I usually don't advise laying on the pressure but in these circumstances I think you need to give him an ultimatum. Ofcourse him having a child does make things a little more complicated but it could still work fine.

After more than two years, I would be expecting alot more than 'one day we will be together', what is he waiting for? Are you sure hes being entirely honest with you?

You deserve more than waiting around. You have waited more than long enough. Be firm tell him that you wont wait any longer. x
