I haven't been out of the house and not been at work and I feel lonely and miserable with a terrible cough and sore chest that simply won't ease no matter what I try. :(Any ideas?

Best way to beat it is remaining rested and warm whilst drinking water or vitamin C! Vitamin C is good for the immune system and helps it as well as proteins!!
Just try that and rest up!

Go to the pharmacy or ask someone to go for you and find as many flu remedies you can intoxicate with yourself with, without overdosing. However, when you have the flu you're pretty much screwed, so I would just go with some tylenol every 4 hours to help with the fever, chills, and aches.

Ginger and honey tea.
Warm milk with honey in.
Hot bath.
Paracetamol, up to 1000mg every 4 hours and NO MORE.
Fluids, rest.
Welcome to being human.
Good Luck!! xx
