The first rule is not to stress out about it. Not before and not after. It's very important to remember, the first time doesn't count because you won't know what you are doing. You still have to use a condom/BC though.

After that, it's important to be able to communicate what you want. Don't know what you want? That's ok too. You can try things until something really does click for you. You can ask for things too! It's completely ok! You don't need to ask for anything bondage or weird positions you've seen in porn, you can ask for *anything*, kisses, cuddling, it's all good. You can even say you don't like things!

Listen to what he says(or moans). That will help you understand what he likes. Of course, for your first GF, it's all good ;)

The only way to get good at sex is practice. Don't watch porn, just try things. Finally, communication, do that and you'll find your way soon enough :)

A male reader, DoubleM United States +, writes (7 July 2011):

DoubleM agony auntWhile I'm unsure what you mean by "toss a guy off," I'll assume it may have something to do with "pleasing" him based on your reference to getting intimate. Well, few young women are really likely to be considered "not very good" with sexual intimacy as long as they are naked and willing. Mist guys can "get off" even if the gal lays there like a sack of potatoes.

If you really want to be good at it (typical intercourse), as you should, all a girl really needs to do is be an active participant rather than laying there motionless. The function is quite elementary. He is going to naturally want to thrust in-and-out (but not all the way out), and all you need to do is thrust back. Just be actively and physically involved, which should come quite naturally, and then future sessions can become more creative. One example would be assuming a "cowgirl position," whereby the female gets on top and rides while the male thrusts upward. That does not require being in Texas, but it helps. lol
