How do I get in good physical shape to do basic combat trainning?

A female United States age 30-35, *ifteen writes:

this is not a relationship question but i get great advice from this website so i might as well see if anyone can help. well i'm 15 years old and i would like to join the army national guard when i turn 17. i would like to know if anyone can give me information on how to get into good physical shape starting now so i will be prepared when i turn seventeen and go to basic combat training in the summer after my junior year in highschool. thank you to anyone who can help.

thankyou! also after college i was planning on training for the FBI or something similar. but i'm starting now so i'm ready. i'll start with running a mile each morning and doing sit ups, push ups, pull ups, and increase the amount as i progress. thankyou :]
