A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

the guy I love is in a relationship. I know it's gonna be so hard for me to see them together and knowing he's with her when I'm somewhere else. I want to find my own guy, but not just any guy. Most guys in my city are complete idiots and the most of the nice ones are already taken. So, how do I find a guy who's worth while without looking desparate?

I'm not looking desperate to other guys, because I haven't even started looking for another guy.

It's just the guy I love is so beyond my reach, and I can't sit around waiting forever. But the guys my age who live in my city, are just not proper and have no manners. They hardly treat girls the right way.

What am I suppossed to do? Since, I go to an all girl school, and I'll just walk to another school and start talking casually? That never works.

nologo agony auntLet's start from the beginning of your story.

You wrote: "the guy I love is in a relationship"

It means that if you go looking for another guy right now, you are most likely to fail; recovery is needed first.

Probably you are looking desperate to most guys, because your feelings are still with the guy.

"I want to find my own guy, but not just any guy"

This sounds great, it means that you have certain ideas about what your own guy should be.

My advice: just keep those ideas a little bit closer to the real life in your city, okay?
