How do I convince my older girlfriend that age does not matter?

A male United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I am a 19 year old guy who has been dating a 27 year old girl for 8 months. She has recently been concerned about the age difference because she believes we are in different parts of our lives even though we have talked about or future and agree on everything. As far as I know we have had a perfect relationship with no arguments. How do I convince her the age does not matter?

This is very long but I need to explain with detail. I just turned 19 in october and I was dating a 27 year old for 8 months. I pursued her for about 4 months until we started to go out.(I got the approval from friends and family) we fell madly in love and started talking about a future together relativly fast. We had a perfect relationship together. Then her sisters wedding came around and I got jealous about her dancing with another guy. I knew I was wrong and I tried to apologize for it but she was to mad at me. It was our first real fight we had. She then broke up with me because she believed my age was what caused the jealusy. We then tried working it out and she started telling me she was worried I would not be able to settle down when she was ready she wants a kid befor she is 33 which is not a problem with me.I do not have a steady job and that scares her but I am a model with the best mens board in the world and she does not understand that I can not get a steady job because I am constantly on call. With the money I am getting I am saving because I have a plan for the future that will take sometime to get going. She nows says she loves me more then anything but just doesn't know if it will work because of her fears about the age.I don't get how if you love someone why arent you with them! How can I show or tell her that age does not matter

Hii...

I had my boyfriend (who is thirteen and in the eighth grade, whereas I just turned seventeen and am in the eleventh grade) in a situation similar to this right before we started going out. We met back in August, and we were great friends from day one. Eventually, my cousin, who is the same age as him, came running to me with news that he liked me as more than a friend. I had been starting to see this from the way he acted around me, and I was actually starting to fall for him, too. Then, while we were texting each other late one night, he asked me out. At that moment, the only thing I had on my mind was the age difference of a little over three years. I forgot about how much I liked him and how much fun we had together and filled my head with thoughts of what everybody would say once word got out and how we would probably never be able to understand each other because of the age difference and all this other junk that I should have never cared about. I told him all of this, and rather than give up, he kept pressing onward. He was constantly showing and telling me how much he cared about me and all of this other wonderfully sweet stuff. As time passed, I slowly began to toss out all of those feelings of doubt. I began to see how much he really and truly did care about me and how, even though we're a little over three years apart, we CAN understand each other. We've been together for a little over two weeks now, and everything is going GREAT.

My point is, just show her how much you love her. Every time you say those three little words to her, say them with every single fiber of your being. Make her see how beautiful she is to you and how much you care for her. Love her like the world's coming to an end!!! Good luck!!!

I always had a thing for older people matter or fact im always the younguest anytime i start a relationship and i think it even works better then with people of my own age. they take things in a more mature way, they have goals and dreams for the future which i really love.

If you really want to show her age does not really matters just talk to her about how much you really love her and how you project your future with her in five years. she might be afraid you leave her in the future for a much younger woman which is the most common fear in this type of relationships my uncle is 37 years old and his wife is already 45 and i've never seem him happier. try to show her witn examples that age its just a number.

jealousy its not a good thing,be self confident and try not to get jealous if you see her dancing with other men matter or fact she's already 27 years old,old enough to have control of her life,i think she knows whats good and bad so she doesnt need you to come getting jealous because she was dancing with another man.

show her your mature enough to support her and give her a serious realationship, she's already 27 shes already waiting to have a family and enjoy life along with them.if you want to be her future show her you could built her future and her present with your love.

Good luck buddy.
