Hey everyone I am 23 years old,my problem may not seem that big but its annoying me a lot lately..its not a relationship problem but you guys have been soo good with your answers that I thought I cld use some help!

So here it is..I have a constant urge to shop online..especially when I'm stressed,or I'm having a bad day I need to shop,I'm a self confessed shopholic..

Some people smoke, drink when they r upset I start shopping lol,its been 4 years now and I can't give up on this habit..the reason this stresses me soo much is I am medical student so I am not really earning right now so my parents have been kind enough to give me their credit cards and I go overboard when I'm stressed!!what do I do?does anyone knw how to control this urge to shop online?

Ps:please don't ask me to attend shopholic meetings lol cuz my life is hectic sometimes I don't even get time to sleep..

Thanks x

Angel S agony auntHey,

I guess everyone has a comforter when stress is involved, a common one is chocolate.

Try to replace it with something else, instead of giving into stress with retail therapy try getting rid of the stress straight away. Yoga is a common solution for a calming practice, it would help decrease your stress levels and also make you feel better about yourself. There are also many self-help books around which help you have a more positive outlook on life again reducing your stress levels. Come home and relax after a bad day try not to dive straight into the clothes! I know its harder said than done but trying to banish the stress would be a positive start. Exercise is a great diversion, you could pick a sport or even something simple as going for a walk. I understand that after having a day of work on your feet the last thing you want to do is exercise but just give it a try. Many people have loved the results on feeling better about and within themselves.

Good luck.

Yea we all shop, retail therapy. Your lucky your parents pay, maybe you should ask them to give you a monthly allowance instead of Cards so it limits your spending power. Its a good place to start. Then try pure willpower alongside.

Online shopping is a diversion, you dont even have to leave home, just click click and its yours- fatal!Find another diversion.
