Women love to dress up like men the world over, why shouldnt guys wear dresses or knickers, I tr to get my hubs to wear my lacey knicks, but he is too manly for all that aparently, (I think if a guy cant wear womens clothes, then maybe its just all the stigma that goes with guys who do, that makes hem too embarrassed to try) Please find the right moment, and tell her. Im sure she will be ok with it, she will want to set boundries, like no going out the house wearing her evening dress and so on, but its best to do it now, no doubt she already knows something is bothering you, you may even find she feels its a relief to know its womens clothes and not another woman!
