chunky_monkey is verified as being by the original poster of the questionHe kept the whole smoking thing from me. He didn't tell me during the whole 4 months he smoked. I feel like everything was a lie then. Then the only reason he told me was because i asked. I feel like trust was betrayed.

It's pretty easy when you are with them all the time because of the smell etc. Long distance is tougher.
Why do you care so much? Was there some sort of promise to not smoke that you think has been broken?
Are you just super cautious for this persons health?
In short, there is no real way of telling aside from asking the person or if someone you know tells you they saw this person smoking.
