Hi, I think that you are a wonderful friend. Its good that your friend has admitted these feelings of lonliness to you and you can reassure her that pmost people go through this at some stage of growing up. As you change and the world changes it can be scary and especially if things are maybe not 100% happy at home or school or in a friendship group. girls can feel that no one likes or understands them.
The best way to help her is to talk and find out what is happening in her family, at school etc. you can reassure her that youa re her friend but that its good to have a variety of contacts, maybe go along with her to looka t some different activities, help her get over the shyness.
encourage her to smile at people even when she finds it tough, and remind her that she can come on here to talk or get advice.
if you suspect that there is something serious with her, for example she talks of low self esteem, no one likes her etc, you should encourage her to confide in a teacher, adult friend..such as a female aunt or neighbour, maybe your mum, and seek immediate adult help.
come back with any further info and i will try to help,
you are kind and thoughtful to help your friend, I send happy vibes to light your way. x
