as for the biological aspect of things, fertility experts say you should be having sex every 2-3 days throughout your cycle, not just when it is your ''fertile time'' in the cycle, as different women ovulate at different times in their cycle. one reason is because cycles vary in length but also because most peoples cycles are not completely regular. experts also say the ideal time to conceive is when you have been at least 6-7 months in a committed relationship with the same man, as thats when your body stops treating the sperm as a foreign body (therefore stops attacking it and less sperm are killed off before fertilisation can occur) and after this time conceiving a healthy baby is more likely. hope this helps.

It just depends on your body. You might get your period back within a couple of months. It might take longer. Basically the injection put artificial hormones into your body to suppress your own hormones. Once the artificial stuff is gone, your own hormones will be able to operate again. I don't think it is usually as long as a year. I think mostly it is within about three months. So not that long. Don't worry. It will definitely happen, so don't stress.

Using contraceptives does not make you infertile, it just means it changes the hormones within your body to stop you getting pregnant. So once you stop using contraceptives, eventually those hormones will go back to normal and you will be able to get pregnant. Infertility is the word used to describe people that medically cannot get pregnant (because of health problems), not people that use birth control.
For some women they can come off birth control and get pregnant right away, for others it can take years. It all depends on your body and it is different for everyone. My friend came off the birth control pill (and she has polycystic ovaries too) yet got pregnant within the first month of trying.
We cant tell you how long it will take you for as an individual because everyone is different. If you are ready to start a family then come off the shot, start trying with your partner and be patient. You are very young so you will at least have age on your side, so I really dont think you have anything to worry about.
Make sure you go and see your doctor for advice on getting pregnant as they are the experts and they will be able to help you far more than we can here.
I hope this helps and good luck!

These sound like great questions for your OB/GYN! Only she or he knows your individual medical history, after all.
Good luck with your family planning!

Good luck! X
