reader, anonymous, writes (16 December 2006): Hi Fifi, It's good that you gave us more information. You have to remember the Aunts below...gave you advice based on what you said in your original posting. Please realize that they had to advise you, on very little informations and facts.
If your bf is immature to the point where he is a liability to his own life and is not paying his rent, then I think you have to make a clear choice. Assess this relationship and ask, do you think he'll mature and take more responsibility for his actions, in the near future?
How does he behave when he gets into trouble for being delinquent with his rent? Is he defensive and blames shifts (it's all their fault) or does he say "what an idiot I was, it won't happen again?" I mean, this is pretty clear cut. You have to think smart and discriminate if he is a good man for you and your future. Plain and simple. If he isn't...cut him loose and save yourself some future headaches. Or..if you feel he is remorseful for his actions, then you know he's on the way to maturing and accepting responsibility for his actions. If this the case, are you willing to stick it out and see if he will grow, develop and start making mature, positive changes to his choices and how he lives his life? No one will blame you for packing it in, hun, if he's not a mature enough man for you. Do what's best for you! You are the one that has to live with the consequences of what he does, be it bad or good. Be strong and think of yourself and your future with him. Ne ver be afraid to tell yourself,if he doesn't cut it...you can move on without him. Good luck, sweety and take care.

 My boyfriend is 36 and does not act his age. He hangs about with 20 year olds as he claims he 'has more in common with them than people his own age'. At the end of the day you cant change them. He is the way he is and you have to either accept it or not and move on. It's a very true saying that some men just never grow up.
