I'm assuming that you probably download music... We used to make our boyfriends mix tapes - but you could burn a CD if that's not too old school.
A handmade item that he might like, is a hoodie with things that he likes written on the back or on the arms, like a tatoo sleeve - friends names, school names, favorite teams, favorite groups, lyrics from his favorite song, you get the idea - you can use fabric markers (or if your really handy, embroider it). You can also add crests and pieces from favorite old t-shirts that he may have worn out (ask his Mom).
If you don't think that it's too mushy, a really nice love letter. With all the texting, things get said and dumped the next minute. A letter that tells him what nice qualities he has and how you feel about him, on paper, is something that most people read more than once.
I'm sure that anything that you put an effort into will be more appreciated by your boyfriend because it is coming from the heart. Take care and have a wonderful Christmas.
