I think of myself as a pretty positive person, but I broke up with him because he never respected me and the times I was "negative" were because he was being disrespectful. Am I wrong? Should I have just put up with he said and ignored what bothered me and just shut up and be positive?

He also got mad because I changed my mind not to have sex with him before marriage. And, most importantly, he wouldn't let me to talk to him about things that bothered me about him.
