He doesn't have as much money s i do so i know he must have had to save for it. I don't want to hurt him by never wearing it, but i know he's already thrown out the reciept because he was so sure i'd love it.

Hey Anonymous,
I'm sure that you would be able to exchange it. Go to the store and tell them that you don't have the receipt, but you would just like to exchange it. Those high end places to practically anything to make their customers happy.
But whatever you do DON'T punch another hole in the belt! Then you wouldn't be able to exchange it for sure.
Take care.

Try and punch a hole in it the make it fit.But since you said he really saved for it i believe you might hurt his feelings by saying its too big and not wearing it anymore. He may takes it the wrong way, so be careful how you tell him if you decide to tell him it doesnt fit you

can u not put another hole in the belt to make it go round better?
if not then you will have to just tell him as much as you love the belt its too big!

i have the perfect answer... i do it every time. simply put the belt on to where it fits and then put the prong on a fork through the belt so you can fasten it. make sure you do it on the opposite side to which it fastens so it doesnt look too raggy on the outside. he sounds lovely bless him, but if anything like that happens again, i would suggest asking him if he has a receipt to exchange it but make sure you explain how much you love his gift and how kind it was for him to give it to you. xxx

As he has thrown away the reciept all you can do is be honest and say the belt big for you. Tell him how much you love it, and what a thoughtful gesture it was, but its just to big. He could try going back to the place he got it on the off chance the people there recognise him as the one who brought it, and change it for a smaller one, its worth a try.
Good luck x
