writes: I've been with this guy for about 2 years now but I can't seem to shift the overwhelming jealousy I have over him and his ex girlfriend. She's a lot prettier, cooler and more interesting than me. Recently my boyfriend and I went to a bar and she was there, and he made a point of sitting with her and talking to her for about 20 minutes while I just sat on my own. She looked so smug and it made me so mad and I must have looked so stupid and jealous. He insists he has no feelings for her whatsoever but it's just made me really insecure.

reader, anonymous, writes (14 August 2005): His ex is an ex for a reason if youve been together for two years you must offer him alot more than just looks, a relatioship doesnt last purley based on physical attraction! If he didnt have feelings for you he wouldnt be with you, his ex may have been smug with you but at the end of the night who did he go home with?? She tried to get one over on you and in my opinion she probably just looked desparate! In future you should tell your boyfriend that you dont feel comfy being left on your own so he can talk to his ex! dont let it bother you and being jealous is natural give it a few days youll be over it!  personally i dont think he should have left you there all on your own :(.. but before that, hes with you because he likes you and who you are. he may not think his ex is prettier cooler and more interesting
