He's not handling our break up well

Question - (28 March 2009) 3 Answers - (Newest, 28 March 2009)
A female Australia age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I broke up with my boyfriend of 8 months yesterday and he didn't handle it very well at all. I said we can still be friends, and the next day he tried texting me again because he's upset still. Should I keep talking to him as a friend and console him? Or will that make things worse and I should wait another week or so? I'm scared I'll make a bad move

Mr Me agony auntI think you pretty much answered your own question: you should keep talking to him and console him as a friend would do. However, make sure that he understands that you're only friends.

2old4this agony auntUnfortunately telling a guy that you can still be friends is like a kiss of death to them. Thats the last thing he wants. The best thing to do is make a clean break and move on from each other. You are the problem so you cant console him. Yea, he is going to be very sad. But if you leave him alone he can get over you.
