As a military person in the air force as a special op. Being in a relationship with someone while going through your first few years of just getting settle can be hard for some people. I have been in the military for 12 years and of my 12 years I never dated anyone or gotten serious with anyone until my 11th year in the military. My reason is because at the time I had to get myself settled into the area of work I was training for. I work with guys across the two branches along with mine air force whom either were in relationship prior joining the military years ago or like me recently got into one once they went through getting settle into what they wanted to do while in the military. You both should at least build your friendship and be that friend for him to count on when he needs someone to speak with. If by GOD's will bring you both together in another forum take it slow because he and you must find your path in life to not regret not being able to because of whatever reason

You should end it now, the last thing you want is for him to be lonely and heart broken when he goes.
