Her text wasn't meant for me. Who was she texting?

A male United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

My girlfriend says she always goes to bed around 9pm because she works all week and is always tired by then. She never answers any texts off me after that time and always waits till morning to reply.

We were supposed to be spending the day together tomorrow (Saturday). I had an early night so I wouldn’t be tired.

I just woke now and have received 2 texts from her. The first to someone else at 10.30pm:-

“No, not at all. Don’t see what ive got to be annoyed at??? Have I missed something? Ha ha oh yeah, they weren’t real arguments though x”

The second to me shortly after:-

“Sorry babe that wasn’t meant for you. I'm looking forward to tomorrow. No rush in the morning, we will take the day as it comes x”

She never replies to my texts after 9pm, yet it seems she’s having a conversation with some after that time!

I'm reading a lot into this but have only just woke and my head not clear yet. How should I handle this? I want to know who she was talking to but don’t want to accuse her of anything.

Laura1318 agony auntI don't know about your country but in mine , sometimes those text will only be received by the next day or a few hours after they are send and not immediately. This could be a technical hitch in the telco server.

Anyway, you should just let it pass and not try to make it into an issue. It is her right to talk to anyone she pleases. If you dig on , you could infuriate her and rock the boat. Her rules for everyone may not be the same.

AuntyEm agony auntCould be innocent enough. Maybe she just got into the convo with a friend or whoever and it went past her regular bedtime.

You could just casually ask her who she was chatting to so late. She will either be up front, lie or tell you to mind your business.

Depending on how your relationship is and how 'into' eachother you are dictates how you handle what she tells you...but if your not satisfied then your gonna have to take it from there.
