 Girls can be very possessive with their male suitors.She loves being the center of your attentions and does not like to leave the spotlight to somebody else- that's normal too.
Anyway, if you have the patience to stick around for one more year, by all means do that. One year is a long time and maybe you'll have the time to make her appreciate you for all your good qualities and change her mind into see you as boyfriend material.
