 Its great you want to use condoms as well as birth control. This will significantly reduce the chances of you becoming pregnant if one method fails.
If your mum is open with you, you could explain the situation to her. Say you havent had sex but want to and ask for her advice. If not then you can always go get them by yourself.
As for everything else - you could possible look up some tips on the internet. But a lot of people just experiment until they get it right. Ask your boyfriend how he feels while you're doing it.

 In terms of the birth control Im sure your GP could help you out if your not sure how mum will handle it but being a father of two daughters myself I think i'd be feeling better knowing that you're wanting to protect yourself and the BF by using contraceptives im not sure what the legal age of consent is for your country either so I'd be careful that your not going to get your bf into any trouble either.
